Do Not Track (DNT) is a browser setting that requests websites not to track you. Ironically, it can actually help fingerprinting.
⚠️ Paradox: Enabling DNT makes you more unique because most users don't change this setting. It adds to your fingerprint rather than protecting you.
🔬 How It Works
// JavaScript detection
navigator.doNotTrack // "1", "0", or null
// HTTP Header
DNT: 1
📊 DNT Values
- "1": User requests not to be tracked
- "0": User consents to tracking
- null: No preference set (default)
🎯 Why It Fails
- Websites are not required to honor it
- Most sites ignore it completely
- Enabling it makes you stand out
- Only ~10% of users enable DNT
🛡️ Antidetect Approach
Most antidetect browsers leave DNT at the default (null) to blend in with the majority of users.
